Last night's class was intense. We only had a few hours to finish. Only one group presented a finished product and they also decided to do some more editing. We weren't so lucky as to be able to present and then improved.
We were on deadline. We had about an hour and a half to finish everything. We divided the work, we were doing final editing in three different computers, asking questions and opinions on each other's pieces constantly. At the end we ended up staying about 30 minutes after the class was over, mainly because the CD took forever to burn.
We finished the video. We used a new intro, the one that Eric had done, and it was cool too. Based on our interviews, we took a personal approach. We focused on the player's hard training and their hopes and motivations for doing it.
Isaac got some good quotes from his interviews.
I liked the final product, but we didn't have time to present it. Next class will be the last one and then we'll know what everybody else thought about it.

I came back from the trip and the video is almost due. The guys from the group have all went filming again and we got a lot of interviews and background shoots. I talked to the couch on the phone and he gave me some info about the team, what they have been doing and what they are planing. He was out of town because they were playing a game in another city, that's why he couldnt meet me so I could record such interview. Yet, the info he shared was good because it gave me some background information and details about the team and what they are up to.
This gives me a different perspective when we make decisions while editing our material. Editing its the longest part of the process. We have different ideas, try to do them and then spend most of the time re-arranging everything we did before.
Isaac and I work well in team though, we listen to each other's ideas and comment on them. This way, I think our edited pieces look good, and have both of our input on them.
Next class is the deadline. We have half of it done, but need to get all the pieces together.
We'll see how it goes.

Filming was fun but hard at the same time. I had ideas of what I wanted to do, angles and things like that, but I wasnt familiar with the camera and it took a while for me to get used to the mechanism and being able to handle it without moving it too fast. Specially the zooming in and zooming out part was hard to dominate.
Editing, then, was kind of the same. We had this ideas of what we wanted and how we wanted it to look like and then it was hard to accomplish. Isaac was more familiar with the imovie and he showed me a trick or two. That was helpful and then when we did our separate editing moves, we ended up with a good product. He had also some interviews so he focused on that video while I edited our first material. With that I made a nice intro and we are thinking on using kind of the same shoot at the end to add narration.

Our group has been changing a little bit. We had people in and people out. Still we try to keep in touch and divide the work.
We decided to do the interviews, the filming and according to our material decide what approach we want to do. Still, we want to focus on a more personal take again. Eric will go filming during practice. I emailed the couch to see when he can meet me. We need to divide the work since I wont be in town for some days because of another class and our other partner works full time.
Isaac and I went to get some background footage. It was sunset so the lighting was perfect. We got shoots of the field and the empty tracks. We want to contrast that emptiness and their lonesome times to when its full house and there is people screaming and cheering all over.

Start the tracking
Our team's topic was going to be safety issues on the Cerritos College Campus. We were going to take a personal account, getting people's views and see how safe students and staff felt. We were going to try to capture the atmosphere at night on campus and on places with not so many people around.
It turned out that Cerritos College's Track and Field team has been doing really great, so we'll be doing a feature piece on them.
We are not sure what will be our approach yet, since we are not yet quite familiar with them or what they have been up to, besides the fact that they are doing really good at the competitions.
